Task Switcher

"Why that?" some might ask. "If I tap once on the multi-tasking key (oder Android-Versions: long-press the Home key), isn't that a task switcher?" Yes and no. Many but not all users know: this shortcut only lists the most recently used apps – regardless whether they are still running, or you incidentally closed them. Further, switching to a horizontal list with Android 9, it got rather tedy to use. So if you want to switch between running tasks, or like to have your "most important shortcuts" available wherever you are, that's not the place to look. But the following apps might be:
