Battery Calibration

Probably one of the most persistent Battery Myths: the battery needs to be calibrated every now and then! Rather nonsense (see linked article). You don't need an app to calibrate your device's battery. That rather happens as a side-effect: that is, always when your battery ran low until the evening, and you fully charged it in one uninterrupted run (over night) – so those apps are mostly „snake oil“ to obtain ad revenue (see: What’s it all about those modules apps contain?). But for those who insist, there are some calibration apps available – which all require root (mostly to remove the batterystats.bin which holds the "juice consumed by app" data):

Identify Battery Consumers

Though Android comes with a built-in tool to show battery usage and consumers, this is often mis-interpreted and not even complete. It gives you raw indicators, true – and if there's an app nibbling at your battery all day long permanently with „greater hunger“, it will certainly show up here. For a deeper analysis, however, one often needs tools revealing more details:
